The Crew Motorfest Gameplay Deep Dive Details Setting, Playlists, and More

On the island of Oahu, players will find urban locales, lush rainforests, arid landscapes, volcanic slopes, and much more.

Ubisoft and developer Ivory Tower went silent on The Crew Motorfest for a few months after announcing it earlier in the year, but recently at the Ubisoft Forward showcase, we got a lengthy look at the open world racer. Following that showing, Ubisoft has now also released a deep dive trailer to break down the core components of the experience.

The Crew Motorfest will be the first game in the series to not use a scaled down version of all of the United States as its maps, and is instead taking players to the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Given the diverse ecosystem of the island, players can expect a vast variety in environments and locations, including dense rainforests, urban areas, volcanic slopes, pristine beaches, arid landscapes, and more.

Playlists will serve as the “chief” activity in The Crew Motorfest, according to Ubisoft, wit each of them coming with its own unique challenges, vehicles, rewards, and often mechanics. For instance, the Vintage Garage Playlist will focus on the history and evolution of automobile through five periods, starting with the 1950s and ending with the 90s. When driving in a ’50s vehicle, players won’t have access to the map, and will instead have to use photographs of landmarks as points of reference to get around the map.

Beyond Playlists, The Crew Motorfest will also feature plenty of open world activities to partake in, including slaloms, escape challenges, speed traps, stunt jumps, bullseyes, hidden loot crates to find, photo challenges, and more. A social hub known as the festival area will also be available, where in addition to a drifting circuit, a drag race track, a massive double loop, and an off roading area, players will also find the Car Meet tent, which will host weekly customization contests.
